Chromium Oxide Paste Green Abrasive is composed of 100% pure chromium oxide mixed with a small amount of oil to create the ultimate strop paste.

Rather than removing metal, stropping with chromium oxide smooths, polishes and refines the cutting edge; not unlike the effect water has on clay.

Chromium Oxide (Cr2O3 ) is a superfine polycrystalline abrasive, it is the mineral that gives green polishing compound it’s colour. Most polishing compositions also include other minerals, but for purists like straight razor users, only the best will do.

Chromium Oxide Green Paste is The most effective way we’ve found to apply the paste is to apply a very small amount (pea sized) with a butter knife in a very thin layer across the leather. We sometimes add a drop or two of mineral oil to slacken off the paste slightly to make sure you can get that layer nice and thin.

Chromium Oxide Paste is a great way to get a few more shaves out of your straight razors, or polish the bevel after a honing session.

Usage is simple! Just take a tiny amount – about as much as you can scoop out on a toothpick – and apply it evenly on an area of your strop/balsa/felt. Afterwards, use the back of a spoon to carefully rub it in. Allow it to dry out overnight, and you’re all set. Re-apply after 10-20 uses, or you feel as though the results are lacking.
